OLD DOG, NEW TRICKS

“YOU CAN’T TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS.”

This common phrase means it is difficult to teach a person something new.

Whatever you do repeatedly; OVER AND OVER is a HABIT that becomes a ROUTINE; DOING THE SAME THING, THE SAME WAY, ALL THE TIME. OLD HABITS ARE HARD TO BREAK. When you have been doing things a certain way for a long time you can become too stubborn to learn how to do it differently.

Routines can be a blessing and/or a curse; especially when it comes to WALKING WITH GOD through faith in JESUS!

“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.  Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.”   Colossians 3:1-2 NLT

Following Jesus leads to NEW LIFE!  Believers are BORN AGAIN SPIRITUALLY; “raised to new life with Christ.”  A NEW DOG WITH A NEW SPIRITUAL NATURE.

Focusing on Jesus leads to NEW THOUGHTS!  Believers are RENEWED MENTALLY; “set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.”  A NEW DOG WITH A NEW MIND FOR SPIRITUAL THINGS.
