THE PROCESS
“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” Matthew 7:13-14
If you ask someone, “do you want to be happy?” they will likely answer “yes”. It is assumed that everybody wants to be happy. The problem is, happiness is hard to find and knowing where to look is the key. Too many people are looking for happiness in all the wrong places. If you want to be happy, it is found through Jesus in the Kingdom of Heaven. To get to the Kingdom of Heaven you must travel the narrow path. There are some disciplines you’ll have to submit to and sacrifices that you’ll have to make. The road is difficult, and there aren’t a lot of options either. It’s Jesus’ way or the highway! It is just that simple. Many people are not willing to make those kinds of sacrifices. Those people will never find the Kingdom and they will never find true happiness. On the other hand, broad is the road that leads to destruction. The world offers many options for people to find happiness, and none of them work; they all lead to ruin. The devil plays on our desire to be happy, and that desire is routing many people to the path of eternal damnation! Jesus does not want it to be this way! If you want to be happy, you need to be in the Kingdom through faith in Jesus. That means you have journey on the narrow lane.
Finding the Kingdom is one thing, but getting in is another matter. It is not good enough to just understand that Jesus and the Kingdom is the source of happiness. If you want to be happy, you have to come all the way in. There is a process you have to go through in order to get in Jesus’ kingdom. It is kind of like a person who just joined a church but the church never gets into them. That is the reason why many Christians are not happy. The only way to get into the Kingdom is through Jesus. He is the Way, Truth, and the Light. He is the Door, the Gate, the Shepard, the King. You have to trust completely in Jesus if you want to get into His kingdom. You have to surrender your life to Him and accept Him as your Lord and Savior. This happens in the heart; you must allow Him to transform you on the inside so you look like Him. Jesus wants you to be happy, but He has to change you, to transform you; this is the only way to get in. You must be born again and become more like Christ every day. Nothing about the Christian life is easy, but if you are willing to go through that process, Jesus will make you happy. Choose the narrow road and Jesus will guide you all the way through.
Questions: Is there anything holding you back from complete trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
Prayer: Lord, thank you for not letting us give up in this heart changing process. You keep us when we want to bail out. Your grace and mercy is truly sufficient. Hallelujah and all praises go to You. If it was not by Your power, we would have quite a long time ago. In Jesus’s name we say thanks, Amen.
