WEEBLES WOBBLE BUT THEY DONT FALL DOWN

“Yet we who have this spiritual treasure are like common clay pots, in order to show that the supreme power belongs to God, not to us. We are often troubled, but not crushed; sometimes in doubt, but never in despair; there are many enemies, but we are never without a friend; and though badly hurt at times, we are not destroyed. At all times we carry in our mortal bodies the death of Jesus, so that his life also may be seen in our bodies. Throughout our lives we are always in danger of death for Jesus’ sake, in order that his life may be seen in this mortal body of ours. This means that death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-12
When you choose to become a disciple of Jesus Christ, you instantly inherit a target on your back. When you make the decision to put Satan down and give him back his ring, he starts stalking you like an old boyfriend or girlfriend. If he cannot get you back, he will use all the powers in hell to make you miserable. It will seem like trouble will follow you wherever you go. Jesus wants you to know ahead of time, that if you are a Christian, you are going to suffer many troubles. You will be persecuted for obeying and glorifying Jesus. We need to learn how to deal with it. The happiness that God provides is the secret to success for true Christians.
Even though Jesus promised many sorrows for his followers, He also promises greater joys. For instance, there was an old toy commercial that use to say, “Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down.” That is partly what it means to be blessed in the Kingdom of God. His happiness will make you stand firm in the face of opposition. No matter what the devil throws at you, kingdom happiness will keep you rock steady. Christians may fall down at times, but they always bounce up, just like the Weeble toys. In addition, God’s happiness will also make you bigger than your problems. Since you have happiness in God, you will be confident in your trials. You won’t buckle under pressure when you are being persecuting for looking like Christ. You won’t change with the culture and its winds. God will make you greater than the moment. God’s happiness also gives Christians an advantage. You see, God favors those who look like Christ. He will give you what you need to make it through. Unbelievers do not experience His happiness like kingdom citizens do. Favor is not fair but it sure is fabulous. Christians got it like that with God. The world may offer happiness but it’s temporary and false. Jesus’ happiness is true and eternal. Hallelujah!
Questions: Can you recall challenges in the past that you knew that if it weren’t for the grace of God, you would have not made it through? What was that like? How many times have you got back up after you fell?
Prayer: Lord, you are bigger than any trouble that we go through. All you have to do is speak and the storm has to be calm. That is why we are confident, because our confidence is in you and not us. Hallelujah and Amen.
