THE MESSAGE AND THE MISSION

“Jesus went all over Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news about God's kingdom. “Matthew 4:23a

“The next morning Jesus went out to a place where he could be alone, and crowds came looking for him. When they found him, they tried to stop him from leaving. But Jesus said, “People in other towns must hear the good news about God's kingdom. This is why I was sent.” So, he kept on preaching in the synagogues in Judea.

Luke 4:42-44

Everywhere that Jesus went, he talked about the coming kingdom. It was the primary focus and central theme of his preaching and teaching. He did not get sidetracked by temptations and distractions from his mission. Unlike Jesus, too many Christians are sidetracked from our mission by both temptations and distractions galore in the world today.

Jesus’ primary message and mission should be ours as well. We are called by God to preach and teach a lost world about the Gospel of the Kingdom. The world needs to hear the good news that the corrupt false systems of government and religion will perish when Jesus returns to establish a new world order of righteousness as King of the earth.  What a privilege! Spreading the message about God’s coming kingdom was why Jesus was sent into the world. Somebody had to get the ball rolling. Just like a snowball rolling down a hill, the more it rolls the larger it gets.  We need to keep spreading the message about the coming kingdom in the same way. God wants you to get the ball rolling in your life. Start by getting excited about Jesus’ return tell people around you the good news too.  Spread the word:  Jesus is coming soon and we need to be ready! Telling people about the coming kingdom is our mission and this mission must be accomplished. That’s right, God wants to use you. Amen!

One way that God can use you to reach others is through our testimony. Just like bad news travels fast, you can share the gospel of the kingdom in the same way. Start by sending a scripture text about the coming kingdom with your friends and contacts. Another way to witness and let your light shine to others is forwarding a link to these videos about the coming kingdom to your family and friends. These devotions and videos are all on my website: michaelanobleministries.com.

You are the instrument that God wants to use. God saves people through the testimony or witness of others. In court, a witness is someone who tells the truth about what they seen and heard. When you know the Lord, you have an obligation to tell others about His goodness in your life. Is there really anything more important than that? God’s spirit in Believers moves us to tell others about Jesus as his witnesses. The Lord is so good to us, we must tell the good news about the coming kingdom with everyone we can.

“When the Counselor comes, the one I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me. You also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.” John 15:26-27

Questions: Is sharing your testimony about God’s goodness in your life your mission? How can you do better in sharing God’s message? What are some obstacles that you must overcome to do so? Are you sure and confident about your own soul’s salvation? Do you know enough about the gospel of the kingdom to share it with others? If not, why? What must you do to make it in?

Prayer: Blessed by the God and Father of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I invite your Holy Spirit to live in me completely. Help me to share the gospel of the kingdom with others. Use me as a witness to testify about your goodness to the lost. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen!
