THE PLAN
“The disciples led the donkey to Jesus. They put some of their clothes on its back, and Jesus got on. Many people spread clothes on the road, while others spread branches they had cut from the fields. In front of Jesus and behind him, people went along shouting, “Hooray!. God bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord! God bless the coming kingdom of our ancestor David. Hooray for God in heaven above!”
Mark 11:7-10
If you look at the life of Jesus, you get a picture of what this faith walk is all about. Jesus followed God the Father’s plan for His life perfectly. If you follow Jesus, that means you too should follow God’s plan for your life in the same way. Before the foundation of the world was established, God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit decided that they would establish their kingdom rule on this earth. God’s kingdom on earth was always the plan. However, the kingdom of God is not established on this earth yet. It is a coming kingdom, and we are still waiting. When you think about it, that was the message of the people when Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday (Mark 11:10). Hallelujah! That was just a glimpse of His glory when He returns to earth as King! When he returns we will literally have heaven on earth. That is what the gospel of the Kingdom is all about. It tells the story about the coming kingdom, and this story must continue to be told! I don’t know about you but I am excited about God’s plan. Come Lord Jesus come!
Questions: Does hearing about God’s coming kingdom get you excited? What might your answer to this question reveal about your faith walk?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, You have made your plan known to us. We ask that you lead us and use us to tell others the story about your coming kingdom. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
