YOU ARE GOD’S MASTERPIECE
“You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. It isn't something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about. God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. This is why he sent Christ to make us what we are.” Ephesians 2:8-10
“You are no longer ruled by your desires, but by God's Spirit, who lives in you. People who don't have the Spirit of Christ in them don't belong to him. But Christ lives in you. So, you are alive because God has accepted you, even though your bodies must die because of your sins. Yet God raised Jesus to life! God's Spirit now lives in you, and he will raise you to life by his Spirit.” Romans 8:9-11
In the time of Jesus, God’s plan of salvation was a great secret to the Jews-and it is still a great mystery today. The mystery of “the Kingdom of God” continues to unfold on earth while Jesus is in heaven. While Israel is still scattered out of her land, God is calling people out of the world and into the Church through faith in His Son Jesus Christ.
Because the Lord protects His own the gates of hell cannot conquer the Church of Jesus nor real Christians. (Matthew 16:18) The Church is not a building but people who are God's possession, separated to Him by the Holy Spirit, His very presence living in them. When you mess with the church, you are messing with God in His people. This means the kingdom of darkness, the power of death, and the devil have no power over a Christian. Christians have been called out from all of that into the Kingdom of God or Messianic Community. We are citizens in the Kingdom of Light. We are under God’s power and protection. We are the children of promise with eternal life. This secret plan blew the mind of the Jews and Gentiles then, and it is still blowing the minds of people today!
Here are a few blessings believers possess in “The Church Age:”
- We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
- God’s spirit lives in our the hearts
- We are God’s children who imitate Him just like Jesus did.
Friends, God works: in, on, for and through His children. You are His masterpiece. God produces in you the desire and ability to do what pleases Him. (Philippians 2:13) If you are a Christian, God’s Holy Spirit lives in you. You are His masterpiece because God operates and builds you like a master builder. He is sculpting you into a brand-new person, from the inside out. When you accept Jesus into your heart, you instantly become God’s child through a spiritual birth. Every child looks like their father, because they share the same traits as their daddy. Similarly, you should look like your Heavenly Father also. You should have some of His traits. Being a Christian means to be Christ-like. You see, if you follow in Jesus’ footsteps, you will live a pure life. You will literally look like Him. Hallelujah!
“Think how much the Father loves us. He loves us so much that he lets us be called his children, as we truly are. But since the people of this world did not know who Christ is, they don't know who we are. My dear friends, we are already God's children, though what we will be hasn't yet been seen. But we do know when Christ returns, we will be like him, because we will see him as he truly is. This hope makes us keep ourselves holy, just as Christ is holy.” 1John 3:1-3
Questions: How has your life changed since the day Jesus called you out of the world? In what ways do you follow in Jesus’ footsteps? How is holiness important to you? Do you feel called out? In what ways does God move inside your heart?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we have been called out of the world and into Your church. We are your children because we trust in Your Son. We also trust in Your word! Thank You for moving inside me and living in me. Help me not to fall back in love with the world. Remind me today that I am called into the church through faith in Jesus. Help me to be imitate you, by your spirit just like Jesus did. In the name of my Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. AMEN!
